Thinking Green

Environmental and Regulatory Compliance

Precision Mounting Technologies is committed to protecting and preserving the environment and being a responsible global corporate citizen. We are dedicated to complying with the requirements of all applicable environmental legislation and regulations wherever our products are marketed or sold.

Environmental Compliance Program

RoHS and WEEE are directives specifically limited to the European Union. Many other countries and individual states within the US have or are considering similar legislation. PMT continues to monitor the development of new legislation and will market our products accordingly.

RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive)

Directive 2011/65/EC of the European Parliament prohibits the sale of electrical or electronic equipment that contain more than specified levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).

WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive)

Directive 2012/19/EC of the European Parliament aims to reduce the amount of electrical and electronic equipment waste through collection, recycling and recovery. Together, RoHS and WEEE work hand-in-hand to reduce the amount of hazardous substances used in the production, reduce the risk of exposure to both production and recycling staff, and reduce recycling costs.

All new PMT products are designed using RoHS-complaint materials. Many legacy products are also RoHS compliant. Contact our sales team to match products to your environmental needs.

Most PMT products can be easily recycled at electronics and metal recycling facilities. For further details be sure to check with your local facility.

The Three R’s of Recycling

As a natural extension of our RoHS and WEEE programs, PMT and our associates actively participate in Reduce, Reuse and Recycle programs.  From corrugate and skids through batteries, PCB’s, metals, plastics, IT equipment, lighting and personal electronic equipment, PMT works with our supply chain and local recycling facilities to reduce waste headed to our landfills.

Reducing Our Environmental Impact

PMT makes every effort to utilize as many eco-friendly products and processes as possible in our operations. Low-energy LED lighting throughout our facility that is also controlled via motion sensing timers in certain areas as well as energy efficient equipment reduces our electrical consumption. Every effort is made to only use, and source environmentally friendly cleaners and shop fluids wherever possible.
